Indiana's revenue collections last month exceeded expectations for the first time this fiscal year.
Indiana's fiscal year, which began in July, led off with three consecutive months of collections that fell below projections, putting the state $39 million off the mark.
Revenues rebounded slightly last month, coming in $1.4 million better than predicted. October collections were boosted by sales tax revenues that were nearly $20 million more than expected.
But, individual income taxes continue to struggle, more than $8 million below expectations last month and nearly $58 million off the mark over four months.
And, while corporate income taxes are performing slightly better than expected this fiscal year, they missed the target by more than 20 percent in October.
