11:00 PM UPDATE: Tornado Watch Expires, Few Damage Reports

11:00 P.M. UPDATE

The tornado watch has been allowed to expire, though a few flash flood watches and warnings remain in effect throughout the overnight hours.

60 MPH winds were measured in Daviess County near Odon. Emergency management officials report wind damage to structures, trees and utility lines in Randolph County.

9:30 P.M. UPDATE

National Weather Service officials have extended the tornado watch to far south western Indiana until 11 p.m. One tornado warning was issued for Hendricks County earlier this evening. Downed trees and crop damage were reported by a storm chaser near Lizton.

1:36 P.M. UPDATE

Forecasters at the National Weather Service say a strong cold front is expected to move through the area this afternoon and evening triggering showers and thunderstorms.

A tornado watch is in effect for most of Indiana until 9:00 tonight.

All of central Indiana remains under a 'slight risk' for severe weather. Forecasters say the main threats could be damaging wind gusts to 70 MPH, large hail, frequent lightning, a few tornadoes and heavy rainfall.

The best chances for severe weather is from 6:00 p.m. until midnight.

Temperatures will drop from highs of 81 today to the upper 60s by Friday and into the weekend.
