The Transportation Security Administration is reminding air travelers that guns are not allowed in carry-on bags.
The reminder comes after authorities confiscated three guns, one of which was loaded, from two passengers at Indianapolis International Airport Wednesday morning.
Airport police arrested one man for having a loaded gun in his carry-on bag.
TSA Spokesman Mark Howell says the other traveler had two unloaded firearms in his properly prepared carry on.
Howell says the man should‘ve declared and checked them with his airline, rather than walking them all the way to the security checkpoint.
Howell says the TSA has already discovered five firearms in bags at the Indianapolis Airport security checkpoint so far this year.
They found a total of 25 in 2014 — up from 16 in 2013.
The man arrested faces state charges, and he could also face a civil penalty of up to $7500.
