In his first year as head coach, Chris Lemonis says his main goal was keeping the team's momentum moving forward.
And despite losing valuable players last year and suffering major injuries this year, the third-seeded Hoosiers will play second-seeded Radford in the Nashville NCAA Regional Tournament, beginning May 29.
"We're confident," Lemonis says. "We played a very hard national schedule and we have wins against some of the best programs in the country this year so we feel like we can match up with anybody."
IU is one of five Big Ten teams in the tournament — a record for the conference. Lemonis says the strength of the Big Ten was the reason IU made it in, after big wins against Ohio State and Maryland helped secure their spot.
"Hopefully our league can just keep moving forward," Lemonis says. "It should help us in the recruiting world as a league to keep the better players in the Midwest."
