Kokomo Republican Martha Lake will face Democratic incumbent Greg Goodnight in the city's November mayoral election. Lake defeated opponent Jack Dodd by 655 votes in Tuesday's primary election.
Lake received 1614 votes, or 63 percent, to Dodd's 959 votes — 37 percent of the vote.
Lake has served as the Howard County auditor for more than a decade. Her campaign platform focused on her professionalism, organization and accessibility. She has said she hopes to keep taxes low for residents and oppose involuntary annexation of properties outside Kokomo city limits.
Democrat Greg Goodnight has served as the city's mayor since 2008.
