The National Football League announced Wednesday the results of its independent investigation into whether footballs used in a January game between the New England Patriots and the Indianapolis Colts were tampered with.
The incident became widely known as "Deflategate."
The nearly 250-page report found it was "more probable than not" that two people — Patriots' equipment assistant John Jastremski and Officials Locker Room attendant Jim McNally — "participated in a deliberate effort to release air from Patriots game balls after the balls were examined by the referee."
The report says it's "more probable than not" Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was aware of the tampering, but other team personnel were not aware.
The report also concluded "there is no evidence to support any finding of wrongdoing with respect to this kicking ball." Questions had been raised regarding the authenticity of the Patriots' kicking balls.
