A report from the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission shows the now-defunct Energizing Indiana plan created thousands of jobs and saved ratepayers nearly $3 in future energy costs for every $1 invested.
According to the evaluation report, Energizing Indiana:
Lawmakers voted to end the program last year and replaced it with a program allowing utility companies to establish their own goals for energy savings.
That new program has been subject to criticism, though legislators, including Gov. Mike Pence, have stood by the program.
