There were no long lines for Monroe County voters to wait in as they cast their ballots in Tuesday's primary. That's because there were hardly any voters.
Monroe County Clerk Linda Robbins says, as of Tuesday afternoon, about 4,000 people had cast ballots out of more than 32,000 people who are eligible.
About 1,800 additional people voted early or as absentees, which is low compared to 2011.
Bloomington resident Carmella Hise says she feels it's her civic duty to vote. She's particularly interested in the Bloomington mayoral race because current Mayor Mark Kruzan isn't seeking re-election.
"I also feel like complacency is a problem in the state of Indiana and wanted to do my part," Hise says.
The polls close at 6 p.m.
