More Than 3,000 People Have Already Voted In Bloomington

Election Day is Tuesday, and voters are going to the polls to elect mayors in 72 Indiana cities.

Voters in Bloomington are heading to the polls to elect city council members as well as either Democrat John Hamilton or Republican John Turnbull as the city's next mayor.

Monroe County Clerk Linda Robbins said more than 1,000 people had voted by 8:30 a.m.

Latest figures from Monroe County Election Supervisor Tressia Martin show more than 3,163 people have voted on Election Day.

The number of voters at precincts throughout Bloomington varies greatly. Some have seen more than 200 voters, while others have seen fewer than 10.

Just more than 2,000 people cast a ballot during early voting.

Polls close at 6 p.m. Tuesday night.
