Three African Elephants Take A Vacation In French Lick

They say an elephant never forgets and down near French Lick, visitors are having an experience they'll remember for a lifetime.

Three female African elephants are taking a vacation at Wilstem Ranch where they can roam in pastures and get a daily spa treatment.

Visitors are able to scrub down the gentle giants, who are orphans rescued from Kruger National Park in Africawhen they were young.

Elephants have a long history in French Lick as a circus was based there in the early 1900s.

But the elephants won't be doing any tricks this time.

"The elephants are not performing while they're here, other than their antics while they're out on the open pasture," Jerry Fuhs, owner of the ranch, says. "Here, what happens is they get their daily baths and get a lot of attention as you can tell. They love the attention, they love their baths."

The elephants will be in French Lick until September 13.
