The second Republican presidential debate takes place Wednesday night, and former U.S. Ambassador to China Jon Huntsman is weighing in on the race during his visit to Bloomington.
Huntsman says the first phase of the race has not been a total surprise because runners are playing to early organizers.
But with knowledgeable candidates, Huntsman says he believes the real issues can be discussed and that's something he says he hasn't seen so far.
"With that many candidates, it's either a race to the bottom or a race to the top and I can't figure out where we're going, but it seems like we've but it seems like we've had one big race to the bottom in terms of some of the issues we've been talking about," he says.
Huntsman says he hopes to see the candidates discuss the real issues at the second debate and lay out their actual plans for the presidency.
