Cummins To Scale Back Operations Because Of Lower Demand

Columbus-based Cummins Inc. announced another quarter of revenue losses compared to this time last year.

In order to adjust for the apparent lower demand, the engine manufacturer will be scaling back some of its operations in North America in order to save money.

They recorded a drop in net income from $1.7 billion in 2014 to $1.4 billion in 2015, with losses anticipated in 2016 as well.

In preparation, the company is taking "difficult but necessary" steps to cut costs.
