Good morning! Here are some of the stories we're following from around the state:

1. Is I-69 treated differently during winter weather than other roadways?

The Evansville Courier and Press has been questioning the state Department of Transportation over signs posted on I-69 that declare the interstate a "Low Salt Zone." Correspondence with INDOT questions whether the transportation agency uses less salt on I-69 than other interstates.

2. AP report: a state official altered a report summarizing an independent investigation into the ISTEP+ test.

Documents obtained by the Associated Press show State Board of Education executive director John Snethen made changes to the language that reflected poorly on Republicans' decision to withdraw from the Common Core and take an exam aligned to new standards.

3. Two years after the state's criminal code overhaul, some lawmakers are asking for tougher sentences for drug dealers.

A bill going through the legislature would mandate tougher sentences for drug dealers. A committee heard testimony on the measure yesterday. The criminal code overhaul promoted sending fewer people to prison by setting alternative punishments.
