The Indiana University Football team is just days away from a new season.
The team is set to return fourteen starters from 2014 and multiple veterans. The Hoosiers have lost talent on both sides of the ball including star running back Tevin Coleman who was drafted to the Atlanta Falcons earlier this year, while the defense took a hit when safety Antonio Allen was dismissed from the team in June.
Still, former players on the team say they are ready to step it up. Senior quarterback Nate Sudfeld missed about half the season last year because of a shoulder injury and says he has high expectations for his final year as a Hoosier.
"It's been a long time coming," Sudfeld says. "And you can simulate it as much as you want in spring ball or fall camp. But until you're actually live…you kinda have that itch to go out there and be part of the game. The full flow of the game."
The Hoosiers face off against the Southern Illinois Salukis Saturday at 4 p.m.
