Both of Lake Monroe's beaches are back open in time for Labor Day Weekend.
Heavy rain in June caused Lake Monroe to rise more than 11 feet above normal, flooding its beaches.
But the waters have receded enough for the Department of Natural resources to reopen the beach at Fairfax State Recreation Area this week.
The beach at Paynetown re-opened last month.
Despite the swimming areas being closed most of the summer, Lake Monroe Assistant Property Manager Corey Rieman says revenue didn't take much of a hit.
"We had to close a handful of primitive sites to move our marina operation to so we lost a little bit of revenue on those primitive sites," Rieman says.
Statewide the DNR has missed out on $700,000 in revenue after thousands of people canceled reservations because of flooding.
The beaches will close after Labor Day.
