Morning Headlines: Monday, October 5, 2015

Good morning! Here are some of the stories we are following today.

1. Indiana has a growing need for foster parents. 

The number of Indiana children in need of foster care has risen significantly, and the Indiana Department of Child Services says they need more foster parents to help with the increase.

The Lafayette Journal & Courier reports that the number of kids in foster care rose from 10,550 to 13,000 this year.

2. Today is the deadline to register to vote.

Today, October 5, is the deadline to register to vote for the upcoming November 3 elections.

Some candidates for next year's election are already campaigning for changes to the way Hoosiers register to vote.

3. Fever shock the Lynx and take Game 1 of the WNBA Finals. 

The Indiana Fever shocked the Minnesota Lynx in Game 1 of the WNBA Finals last night 75-69 to take a 1-0 series lead.

Five Fever players were in double figures, as Game 2 tips off in Minnesota on Tuesday night.
