Daybook: Anti-Discrimination In Kokomo & BMV Regulations

Good morning! Here are some of the stories we'll be following throughout the day.

  • Lindsey Wright is in Kokomo today for our weekly series Ask the Mayor. Last night, Mayor Greg Goodnight, D-Kokomo, delivered his ninth State of the City address. We'll ask Goodnight about his commitment to extend non-discrimination protections to LGBT Hoosiers in Kokomo, if lawmakers don't pass legislation by the end of this session.     • The state Senate yesterday rejected three amendments to HB 1004, which would allow local school corporations to increase the salary of a teacher without consulting the teacher's union, if the school district is trying put a teacher in a hard to fill spot (Special Ed, STEM classes, rural or urban schools).
