Daybook: New Lt. Gov. & Lead In Water Discussion

Good morning! Here are a few of the stories we'll be following throughout the day:

  • The Indiana legislature voted this morning to confirm Eric Holcomb as the new lieutenant governor, after the resignation of former Lt. Gov. Sue Ellspermann yesterday. Statehouse reporter Brandon Smith will cover the vote and readings of several pieces of legislation. Follow him for updates ( @BrandonJSmith5).
    • The Poynter Center for the Study of Ethics and American Institutions is sponsoring a panel discussion titled "Toxic Places: Water, Landscape, Space, and Place in Flint, Michigan; Bloomington, Indiana; and Beyond." Instructors from IU will answer questions about environmental, institutional and political factors. Follow Josh Margolis ( @MargolisNews) for updates.
      • The Monroe County Election Board is meeting today. The board will hold hearings for delinquent campaign finance reports, and is likely to discuss a replacement for Monroe County Clerk Linda Robbins who is resigning March 4. Follow Becca Costello ( @Becca_Costello) for updates.
