Good morning! Here are a few stories we're following today:
A federal judge ruled Monday that Gov. Pence can't block Syrian refugees from settling in Indiana. The ACLU of Indiana is suing the Pence administration on behalf of Exodus Refugee Immigration. The suit argues that Pence's order will cause financial harm to Exodus Refugee, since federal money that is used to help provide temporary housing and employment assistance to refugees often passes through state agencies. Today, we'll talk to refugee organizations in Indiana to find out what their next steps will be. Follow Becca Costello ( @Becca_Costello) for updates.
Indiana University is continuing a discussion about diversity on campus with monthly meetings. University leaders, including the provost and members of faculty, are meeting tonight at 6 p.m. for the first time to discuss the criminal justice system and the Black Lives Matter movement. The legislative sessions is quickly coming to a close. Today in the Senate, a bill regulating the sale of pseudoephedrine will reach a final vote. If it passes, it will head to the desk of Gov. Pence to be signed into law. And, the Senate will be honoring Lt. Gov. Sue Elspermann, who has officially resigned from her position.
