Governor Mike Pence heads into the year of his reelection bid with a sizable fundraising advantage over his Democratic challenger.
Likely Democratic nominee John Gregg actually outraised Pence in the first half of 2015 and finished the year with $3.7 million in contributions, and $3.5 million remaining cash on hand.
But the Republican incumbent raised about $3.5 million dollars in the last six months, nearly as much as Gregg raised in all of 2015.
Pence ended the year dwarfing the Democrat's numbers: $6.8 million cash on hand after bringing in $5.1 million over the year.
Gregg is doing significantly better fundraising for this campaign than he did during his last match against Pence. During the same period in 2011 Gregg's campaign had raised only $1.7 million.
The complete details of the candidates' 2015 fundraising reports, including a list of all donors, will be available soon; the reports are due January 20th.
