A Brown County man is in jail after police say he attacked a foreign exchange student with a hatchet in downtown Nashville on Thursday.
Dana Ericson, 59, faces charges of aggravated battery causing serious permanent disfigurement, battery by means of a deadly weapon and attempted murder.
Police say Ericson was arrested with a hatchet in his possession.
The victim was transported to Columbus Regional Hospital, where she was treated and released. She is an exchange student from China who's attending Brown County High School.
