The Monroe County Democratic party will hold a caucus on March 21 to choose the replacement for Monroe County Clerk Linda Robbins.
Robbins has served as clerk since 2010. She is currently in her second term, which runs through the end of 2018.
She announced last week she is resigning effective March 4 because of health problems.
At least two candidates have been nominated, including Nicole Browne, who will serve as the interim clerk until a replacement is chosen. Browne is currently the chief deputy clerk for Monroe County.
Other candidates are expected to join the caucus in the coming weeks.
