Officer Returns To Work After Shooting That Killed Partner

A deputy who survived a shooting two months ago is headed back to work today.Sergeant Jordan Buckley is ready to get back on the job with the Howard County Sheriff's Department.

"I feel like I must have more work to do," said Buckley.

Buckley was injured in the same March shooting that took the life of Deputy Carl Koontzwhen the two were trying to serve a warrant.

Twenty-seven-year-old Koontz left behind a wife and infant son.

The families are still trying to heal after the loss and hurt from the shooting, but Sgt. Buckley says he isn't giving up.

"You know, it's something I'm going to think about for the rest of my life," Buckley said.
