State Supreme Court Upholds Sallee Conviction

The Indiana Supreme Court is upholding the conviction of a southern Indiana man sentenced to life in prison for the deaths of four people.

The court ruled there was ample evidence to convict Samuel Sallee, who is serving time for the May 2013 killings of three men and a woman in Waynesville. He shot and killed 39-year-old Thomas Smith, 53-year-old Katheryn Burton, 41-year-old Aaron Cross and 41-year-old Shawn Burton. Katherine Burton also suffered a stabbing injury.

Sallee's attorney argued the evidence against her client was circumstantial and that the conviction should be overturned. But the court disagreed, saying the evidence is sufficient to support Sallee's conviction.

Sallee has repeatedly denied any involvement in the murders.
