Forecasters are calling for numerous showers and strong thunderstorms to sweep over central Indiana tonight bringing hail, damaging winds and heavy rain.

National Weather Service reports indicate severe storms may pop up due to a warm front lifting through a moist and unstable atmosphere.

A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect until 11 p.m. for most of south western Indiana. Isolated events of two inch diameter hail and wind gusts to 70 MPH are possible.

The storms are predicted to continue Thursday and throughout the weekend with large hail and damaging winds the main threats.
