Suspect In Shaylyn Ammerman Case On Suicide Watch

The man accused of killing 1-year-old Shaylyn Ammerman is on suicide watch at the Owen County Jail.

Kyle Parker pleaded not guilty to several felony charges this week, including murder, strangulation, rape and child molestation.

The Owen County Jail commander says Parker has been on suicide watch since police arrested him last week. According to court documents, he told his step-father "he was not going to prison for the rest of his life and was going to commit suicide."

The jail is monitoring Parker constantly through a video feed and physically checks on him every 15 minutes. A doctor is scheduled to evaluate him tomorrow.
