Weather UPDATES: 1.25 Inch Hail, Heavy Rain Flooding Streets

6:00 p.m. UPDATE

Tornado warning for eastern Lawrence County was allowed to expire at 6 p.m. as the storm weakened. Jackson County now under a severe thunderstorm warning.

Emergency management in Freelandville of Knox County reports 1.25 large hail, a storm chaser in Greencastle measured 1.10 inches of rain in 30 minutes.

5:30 p.m. UPDATE

Thunderstorm warnings are still in effect. Flooded streets and roof blown off a shed in Carlisle and half inch hail reports in Bloomfield are being reported through the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.

4:50 p.m. UPDATE

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Indianapolis say showers and scattered thunderstorms will move through the area through Thursday.

Amateur radio reports indicate one inch hail near Carlisle in Sullivan County. Storms are moving east at 35 MPH. A few thunderstorm warnings are in effect.

Weather Service forecasters predict dry weather will return Friday into next week. Temperatures will also turn colder for the start of the weekend with highs in the mid 50s.
