If you want to ring in the New Year with a glass of bubbly, you will need to plan ahead. New Year's Eve falls on Sunday. Liquor and grocery stores can't sell alcohol due to Indiana's Sunday sales law.
But that law doesn't apply to local wineries, breweries and distilleries. Several in Monroe County are open Sunday, including Oliver Winery.

"We have two sparking style wines a sparking Catawba which is a sweeter style, and a sparking Vidal Blanc which is a Brut style," She says. "Both of those are really special because they are made by hand by our winemaking crew here at the winery."
Hoosiers could soon be able to buy alcohol on Sundays. A committee tasked with reviewing the state's liquor laws this year recommends legalizing Sunday sales.
Republican Rep. Ben Smaltz filed a bill last week for the 2018 legislative session.
