Republican candidate Dave Hall’s lead over Democrat Penny Githens in the District 62 race increased to 40 votes after provisional ballots were counted in Monroe, Jackson, and Brown Counties.
Hall had a 37-vote lead before provisional ballots were added.
All 10 verified provisional ballots in Brown County went to Hall, whose total rose to 4,214 votes. The clerk’s office said 39 provisional ballots were submitted in the county.

The Jackson County clerk’s office said they only had two voters to add when provisional ballots were counted Friday. Hall picked up one vote – going from 878 to 879. No provisional ballots went in Githens’ favor in Jackson County – where she has 141 votes.
Githens picked up a net of eight votes in Monroe County, where 12 provisional ballots went to Githens and four went to Hall. Githens won the county, 10,620 to 7,897.
Githens said Friday at Monroe County Election Central that she was waiting to see how provisional ballots affected totals before requesting a recount. The deadline to do that is Nov. 22.
