IUPD investigating alleged rape at Phi Kappa Psi

The IU Police Department said it’s investigating a rape allegedly committed Feb. 24 at the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity house.

IUPD met last Saturday with the student who reported being raped, according to IUPD’s crime log.

According to the report, the assault took place between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. The student who came forward said they knew the suspect.

An IUPD spokesperson confirmed there is a suspect in the case but wouldn’t provide further details because the investigation is ongoing.

Phi Kappa Psi issued the following statement: "Phi Kappa Psi was recently made aware of an allegation of sexual assault occurring at the chapter house on February 24 through an article published by the Indiana Daily Student. Chapter leadership immediately reached out to University administration and the Indiana University Police. The Fraternity and its members take all sexual assault accusation seriously and will continue to work with the University and Police to support the investigation into this matter."
