One individual was pronounced dead on scene following a crash at Chambers Pike and Wayport Road around 8 p.m. Saturday. Monroe County sheriff’s officers investigated the scene and found one person inside a vehicle. Officers could not determine why the vehicle went off the road.

Three motorcycles involved in crash
A motorcyclist was airlifted for severe lower leg injuries following a three-motorcycle crash around 4 p.m. Sunday. Officers responded to South State Road 446 and East Salt Creek Drive, where they assisted all three motorcyclists. State Road 446 was shut down while the Monroe County accident reconstructionist recreated the scene. The accident is still under investigation.
