First Saturday of the month, S for Science.

Any fifth Saturday of a month is, M for Maker

Recommended Ages: STEM Saturday is designed for ages 5 and up and their caregivers.

The world premiere of Always a Little Bit Tipsy will take place in Bloomington, Indiana this September! Based on the topsy-turvy life of world-champion ballroom dancer and drag artist Tom Slater (a.k.a. Tipsy Teasedale) the all-new original musical, Always a Little Bit Tipsy, explores survival, masculinity, and the healing power of drag. This is a story about the violence of small shames, the masks we build to survive, and the radical act of becoming whole.

Baby Brilliance is a weekly program for infants / pre-walkers and their caregivers. Each week participants will explore themes related to infant development. Inspired by the book, “Experimenting with Babies,” by Shaun Gallagher.

Recommended Ages: Infants / pre-walkers and their caregivers - walkers should attend Discovery Time for more appropriate content. Older siblings are always welcome.

Join us for an unforgettable evening of bourbon, history, and exceptional flavors at Barker Mansion.

Spend the evening in the grandeur of the Mansion’s Third Floor Ballroom as you enjoy a specially curated bourbon tasting featuring a selection of distinctive bourbons chosen to highlight a variety of flavors and styles. Each tasting will be paired with an assortment of small bites prepared by McGowan & Sons, with bourbon serving as a featured ingredient in each culinary creation.

Whether you’re a seasoned bourbon enthusiast or simply looking for a unique night out, this special Mansion After Hours experience offers the perfect opportunity to sip, savor, and socialize in one of Michigan City’s most beautiful historic settings.
Guests are also invited to enjoy a self-guided tour of Barker Mansion throughout the evening, and weather permitting, may stroll through the historic Jens Jensen Garden.

Our Spooky Wine Walk Presented by Romain Cross Pointe is back and spookier than ever!

Join us for a thrilling evening of wine, shopping, live entertainment, and dining on Friday, October 2 from 5:30-8:30 PM! Guests 21 and older, please. Valid ID will be required for attendees. Costumes encouraged!

Wine is served to ages 21+, but ALL are welcome to attend and enjoy the event activities.

Join us in the children's department every Saturday morning for Story Hour! All are welcome!

Monroe County Humane Association's 31st Annual Run for the Animals, presented by The Dog House is a timed 5K run/walk at Karst Farm Park taking place on Sunday, October 4, 2026. Each registration includes an official Run for the Animals t-shirt and sponsor swag.

The 5K course starts at Karst Farm Park and loops through the Monroe County Fairgrounds. The awards ceremony and sponsor booths are now located near the start/finish line, making it easier for participants and families to celebrate together—and for faster results posting! After the awards, stick around for the raffles and fan-favorite pet contests! You don't have to be registered in the 5K to participate in the raffle and pet contests!

A Fair of the Arts takes place on the second Saturdays of the summer season, May through October, in conjunction with the Bloomington Community Farmers' Market at the following location:
