Thousands lined the streets of downtown Bloomington to see this year's Fourth of July parade. Bloomington Parks and Recreation and Downtown Bloomington, Inc. hosted the event.
Parade coordinator Bill Ream says he was pleased with the more than 100 entries.
Downtown Bloomington Inc. Executive Director Talisha Coppock estimates 8,000 people watched the parade.
"It's a reflection of our community. From Scottish pipes and drums to Indiana Festival Theater to hula-hoopers, gymnasts, veterans organizations and rights activists... all come out to celebrate together," she says.
