In South Bend Sunday night Bernie Sanders asked the thousands of people who spent hours waiting in line for the rally to show the same dedication on Tuesday.
Sanders spoke to an energized crowd about issues ranging from wage inequality to the nation's drug abuse epidemic. That's an issue that's especially on the minds of many Hoosiers, after intravenous drug use sparked an HIV outbreak in southeastern Indiana last year.
Sanders says to tackle addiction there needs to be more access to mental health treatment.
"We have got to deal with that problem boldly and the way to go forward is to recognize drug abuse and addiction should be treated as a health issue, not a criminal issue," Sanders says.
After losing the majority of last week's primaries, it's likely Indiana could be Sanders' last stand. Sanders says he's counting on his supporters to go to the polls Tuesday.
"We win when working people, and young people, and people who have in many cases given up on the political process come back in," he says.
Indiana's Republican Party says Sanders' proposals would hurt the state and kill jobs. Donald Trump will hold a rally in South Bend Monday.
