Looking For The Perfect Cup Of Tea? Go Hiking At A State Park

The perfect cup of tea may be waiting for you in one if Indiana's 24 State Parks!

A unique hike at Fort Harrison State Park teaches visitors how to find ingredients safe for making tea. Park Naturalist Caitlin Stahl points out plants that make good teas and plants that would make someone sick.

Here's what she suggests for finding tea ingredients on an autumn hike:

Good for Tea

Goldenrod

White Pine

Rose Hips

Not Good for Tea

Bush Honeysuckle

Milkweed

Harvesting anything that harms the plant (leaves, flowers, roots) is not allowed on State Park property, but that berries, nuts, and seeds are fine to harvest.
