Hoosiers head coach Tom Crean was the unanimous selection for Big Ten coach of the year.
The Hoosiers struggled early in the season -- t hey finished sixth in the Maui Invitational and suffered a 20 point loss to Duke in early December. Crean is credited for turning the season around; he coached IU to an outright Big Ten title March 1st at Iowa.
Yogi Ferrell was a unanimous First-Team All-Big Ten selection and was also named to the all-defensive team.
Purdue's A.J. Hammons was a First-Team Big Ten winner as well as Defensive Player of the Year.
Both Indiana and Purdue had multiple other honorees. For the Hoosiers, Troy Williams and Thomas Bryant were Third-team Big Ten selections, Max Bielfeldt was Sixth Man of the Year and Ryan Burton was a sportsmanship award winner. For the Boilermakers, Vince Edwards, Raphael Davis and Caleb Swanigan were all honorable mentions for All-Big Ten.
