Ryan White's Mother Speaks On Anti-Bullying

Jeanne White-Ginder, the mother of outspoken AIDS patient Ryan White, spoke today at the Children's Museum of Indianapolis about her family's experience with bullying around her sons disease.

Ryan White was a hemophiliac and contracted AIDS through contaminated blood transfusions for hemophilia. When knowledge of White's AIDs became public, White was bullied in school and discriminated by classmates.

Jeanne White-Ginder hopes Ryan's story educates and informs children.

"I think to make sure people are educated about hemophilia, make sure people are educated about AIDS, and educate about bullying and not to discriminate," says White Ginder.

White-Ginder spoke in the Power of Children exhibit room at The Children's Museum, which features a replica of Ryan's room where children can learn more about Ryan's story.
