The Monroe County Emergency Management office will test the outdoor warning sirens an additional time at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 18. This is to test the quality of the sirens.
"It is our goal as an Emergency Management Agency to ensure that our outdoor warning sirens are working properly and are able to be activated correctly for the safety of Monroe County citizens," said Justin Baker, Deputy Director of Monroe County Emergency Management.
The sirens are tested on the first Friday of the month at noon and 7 p.m. unless there is need for an actual weather warning.
There are 46 siren locations in Monroe County. A list of the siren locations can be found on the city's website.
