Intellectual diversity law, vigil tests IU policy, COVID on the rise | Indiana Newsdesk

Coming up on  Indiana Newsdesk:

A new Indiana law requires teaching intellectual diversity in state colleges, but it doesn’t explicitly define what that means. But violating the law could affect professors’ tenure.

IU’s new expressive action policy went into effect this week and students and professors tested it with a late-night vigil. The ACLU of Indiana is suing the university, saying the policy is a violation of the first amendment.

Officials are urging people to get the latest COVID vaccine as cases are on the rise across much of the country.

And, Bloomington’s various departments present their 2025 budget proposals to city council.
