According to Indiana Workforce Development, Hoosiers receiving unemployment insurance will notice changes to eligibility requirements on July 1, 2011. The new rules are part of laws passed by the General Assembly that make several changes to unemployment insurance over the next year.
Mark W. Everson, Commissioner of the Department of Workforce Development, said the changes are meant to ensure that only those who are truly unemployed are eligible for unemployment insurance benefits. Beginning July 1, the following groups of people will not be eligible for unemployment insurance benefits:
