Jobs open at Camp Atterbury, weekly salaries ranging from $1,000 to $3,500

One hundred positions are open with weekly salaries ranging from $1,000 to $3,500 at Camp Atterbury for dining operation jobs.

The openings come after thousands of Afghan evacuees arrived at the military training center last month.

Michael Child is the chief operations officer at AIM World Services, the company contracted to hire the positions.

Child said hiring people to fill these positions is urgent and has been a challenge.

“It’s very urgent right now. We’re looking to hire hundreds of people really. I mean the scope of work’s been expanding,” Child said.

Child said the jobs require a pre-employment drug test, submitting to random drug testing, and a background check.

“We definitely like to hire veterans, and people that want to work hard and get paid well, they can work with our company.”

AIM World Services provides staffing support for the US government and military on a global basis.

Child said the positions at Atterbury will go for about six months. An annoucement from AIM said those hired would be expected to work six days a week on ten to 12 hour shifts.

People interested in applying can attend job fairs Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at the Hilton Garden Inn in Edinburgh, or call 281-847-2000.
