Senate committee adopts state tax cut for overtime and tips
A key finance panel on Tuesday inserted a one-year state income tax break on overtime and tips for Hoosier workers. The amendment would cost the state $251 million in tax revenue and that loss would be covered by the growing state surplus.
Rural homelessness growing faster than cities
Rural areas saw a 16.6% increase in people experiencing homelessness between 2023 and 2025, according to Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority data. During that same time period, urban areas saw a 9.4% increase.
